Atlantis the Lost Bar, located right across the street from the Rowhouse Spirits Distillery, is our home away from home. It is known to locals as either “Atlantis” or “Lost” (Traci refers to it as our other living room.) How convenient is that…you can pick up a bottle of Rowhouse Spirits Gin to make your very own Bee’s Knees…then wander over to Atlantis to taste one made by an expert.
Lost is the quintessential neighborhood bar. Show up on any given afternoon and you’ll walk into a bar where everyone seems to know everyone. But don’t worry, newcomers are quickly welcomed and after ten minutes you’ll be a regular too…as long as you’re not a jerk.
While the Lost Bar does not serve food (There is usually a plate of Philly Soft Pretzels during the week for patrons to snack on and bagels on Sunday served gratis while supplies last) they do have the best take-out menu selection in all of Philadelphia. Don’t worry if you are not familiar with the selections, the locals will steer you in the right direction…albeit after a spirited debate on who has the best sandwiches.
Now, what Atlantis the Lost Bar does have is legendary…their Bloody Mary. Although we prefer the Bloody Virginia which is the same drink only with Gin (be sure to ask for Rowhouse Spirits by name). Marianne serves these gigantic breakfasts in a glass on Sundays and it’s not unusual for her to be mixing up ten at a time…all afternoon. Rumor has it Beau will now be serving up Bloody Marys and Bloody Virginias on Saturdays as well. We can’t wait to see what he puts in his…we love it when bartenders get competitive…the customer always wins!
Atlantis The Lost Bar is open every day from about 12:30ish until 2am.
